Testing Time at Wakefield for Pyne

CLAYTON PYNE has finished 19th overall at the second round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at Wakefield Park.

It was a frustrating & testing outing for Pyne, who battled a very over-steering car all weekend. Despite the setup issues throughout the weekend, Pyne showed solid speed in the final race of the weekend progressing forward to be as high as 14th.

After qualifying 24th Pyne moved forward in race one to finish 19th.

A tough start to race two, getting checked in the opening laps, saw Pyne drop a few positions.

Pyne Returns with Promise for Wakefield Park

CLAYTON Pyne is set to return to the track this weekend, for the first time since 2007, at Goulburn's Wakefield Park Raceway for Round 2 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.

It was a new circuit and new race car, but that didn’t stop Clayton Pyne from piloting his Auto One Racing BA Falcon to two top 15 race results in the opening round of the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. The 2006 CPR Partner Ride Day was greeted with warm, sunny skies over Goulburn's Wakefield Park Raceway on Tuesday. On-hand was the entire CPR contingent as well as Pyne's key supporters for the 2006 season.

Pyne salvages gallant result in season decider

Clayton Pyne endured a tough weekend in the final round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at Phillip Island on the weekend salvaging 21st overall. A critical pre-qualifying oversight ensured Pyne would start far down the order than was expected.

"When we found the oversight, we knew straight away where approximately 1.5 seconds of laptime had disappeared", Pyne lamented. "It's certainly ahead of us in the race later today, but I am confident we have the car speed to push forward".

It’s another first for Clayton Pyne this weekend, as he prepares for an assault on the demanding high speed track that is the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit in what is the final round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. Clayton Pyne – solid debut at the Mountain

CLAYTON Pyne put in a solid performance in his first ever assault on Mount Panorama at Bathurst over the weekend for Round 6 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Development Series.

A difficult qualifying session saw Pyne start the race from 37th position. The lower 50% qualifying session was red flagged early, with most cars only completing two to three laps.

Clayton Pyne debuts his V8 Just Outside the Top 15

LOCAL Sydneysider, Clayton Pyne, finished his first ever round in a V8 Supercar in an outstanding 16th position, with two top 15 race results at Oran Park Raceway for Round Four of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Development Series over the weekend.

Pyne entered the round with modest expectations, merely hoping to complete as many laps as possible to further develop the team’s data bank and to get some experience racing in the series. The strategy was to run some smart races, keep out of trouble, and the result of following that plan is clear- two top 15 race results on debut.

Clayton Pyne tried and tested for his V8 debut at Oran Park

LOCAL Sydneysider, Clayton Pyne, has been putting plenty of miles on his Holden V8 Supercar in the lead up to his debut in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at Oran Park this weekend.

Pyne had another test day at Oran Park last Wednesday, completing 43 laps to further orientate himself with the 600 horsepower VX Holden Commodore. During the day, his lap times continued to improve, despite only running on used tyres. The Development Series debutante now feels that he is getting a much better grip on how to handle the powerful V8.

One of Australia’s finest motorsport pedigrees returns to the track

CLAYTON Pyne has a driving history that reads like an Australian motorsport honour board. He’s graduated from the same motorsport crop that has produced household names like James Courtney, Ryan Briscoe, Michael Caruso, Mark Winterbottom and Jamie Whincup.

Pyne raced for the factory Tony Kart team in the 1996 World Kart Championships in Belgium. That same year he was on the podium of the Oceania Kart Championships, finishing just shy of Briscoe. Pyne to Race V8 Supercar

Accelerated Enterprises has today officially launched a campaign to contest the remainder of the 2006 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. Clayton Pyne will return to the track for the team, piloting an ex-Larry Perkins VX V8 Supercar. The car will be prepared by Pyne's own Accelerated Enterprises personnel. In recent years Clayton featured in the National Formula Ford Series in seasons 2003/4 before winding back racing commitments to focus on his academic pursuits and his professional career.
